Canadian Design Personality Round-up #1: Sarah Richardson

Name: Sarah Richardson

Claim to Fame: Ever-growing television empire including (in chronological order) the shows “Room Service” (off the air for a long time now), “Design Inc.” (which is apparently coming back one day.  I hope so.  I love that show.), “Sarah’s House”, and “Sarah’s Cottage”, and soon to come: “Sarah 101”.  She’s also become the spokesperson for Greenworks cleaning products, writes for the Globe and Mail, has her own furniture line, and recently released her own paint line (!!!) with Para paints.  All while raising her two little girls with her husband!

My 2 cents:  Ah, Sarah.  Could I write a blog series like this and start with anyone else?  Certainly not!   For starters, she, and her co-stars (designers and contractors on both Design Inc. and Sarah’s House), are all so much fun to watch.  Funny & stylish, you can easily find yourself daydreaming about them flying out to Saskatchewan to help you design every room in your dream farmhouse.  er…  Or is that just me?

I love nearly all of Sarah’s work (Sarah’s House 2 had me a little less than impressed) and have seen every episode of Design Inc. and Sarah’s House 1 at least 3 times. (That’s a conservative guess!)  But need I say more?  Look for yourself!

Here are some pictures of her work:

From Sarah’s House season 3: Sarah’s farmhouse:

And some from Sarah’s Cottage!

And Sarah’s House season 1… still some of my favourite rooms!

And a few from Sarah’s House 2:

And who didn’t LOVE Sarah’s nursery episode on Design Inc.?

And an assortment of other pretty rooms!

And let’s end with a room that is classic Sarah:

(Sorry to say not every post will have this many pictures!)
