grey + sunny yellow = delightful
Who wouldn’t wanna’ sit on that wraparound veranda sipping iced tea, and waiting for a storm to roll in?
Awhile ago I posted a picture of this kitchen designed by Stacey Smithers (style editor at Canadian House and Home) and Cameron MacNeil (Design Editor at Canadian House & Home). (Photograph by Michael Graydon)
This was one of those pictures that totally took off and gained oodles of “likes” and “reblogs” on Tumblr. And I think I get why: aside from being fresh and beautiful it is not too modern, nor too country, nor too traditional - and it would satisfy a lot of people with a wide variety of design preferences.
I find that is true of a lot of Cameron MacNeil’s work - a balance of modern and traditional. Aware of trends, but an overall classic and palatable design. Somehow he manages to please a lot of people without seeming too generic with his design. So enjoy some pictures from MacNeil’s portfolio today!

I love the juxtaposition of the very clean modern lines of the shelves and cabinetry with the old paintings and frames

Love the industrial-looking metal island card with the country style baskets, and the open shelf for cookbooks.
