More art that makes me happy
A while back I posted about some Blanca Gomez prints I’d purchased. They’re sitting in my office begging to be hung on the wall… and I absolutely adore them… and kind of want some more art that would fit with them.
Now I’m totally crushin’ on her prints above. They remind me of some Miroslav Sasek storybooks that I’ve been wanting to buy for a...

Summer Style Series: Roadtrip!!
(Summer Style Series double this week! woot woot!)
I love a good roadtrip. Whether with girlfriends or my hubby, a roadtrip is on my list of favourite things. My absolute favourite is any trip that goes through the Rockies - passing sparkling waterfalls, rushing rivers, craggy cliffs, and of course mountain goat sightings!
For some reason I really like travelling in dresses…...

Summer Style Series: Pool Party
Let’s pretend we have a friend with a pool. (Probably that one with the cabin and the boat. Man… some people have all the luck.) But yay! Because now you can wear that great bathing suit from Anthropologie! Not to mention show off your fabulous Orla Kiely towel. Seriously, I want that towel. And when you’re not in the pool you can cover up with the sunny dress from Old...

Bored? Can I suggest going back in time?
I’m working on (what I think is) a pretty cool series of posts to take the blog through August while I focus my energies on VBS… but until that’s all ready to go I won’t be blogging a ton, except for the Summer Style series posts queued up, and the occasional reblog.
So, if you want, why not check out my archive and discover some of the old posts? And have a beautiful...

I am the party-pooper
You know when you start seeing “back-to-school” sales advertised and it’s not even August yet? And it kind of fills you with ire, and you want to yell, “HEY! MY SUMMER’S NOT DONE YET! LEAVE ME ALONE!”
I live in Saskatchewan where summer is far too short, so I know I need to savour each and every ounce of sunny warmth I get. But… I looooooove autumn....

Summer Style Series: Garden Tea Party
A few summers ago some friends of mine hosted a delightful tea party. They invited women of all ages (from 5-year-olds to 65-year-olds). They set up pretty little tables with china teacups and flowers, we ate dainties and drank tea, and played games you can play in a dress, like croquet and bocce ball. It was so much fun! So this is an outfit for just such an occasion.
I love this light,...

Design-in-a-box
A while back I wrote about Samantha Pynn in my Canadian Design Round-up… she’s a great Canadian TV Designer (on HGTV’s Pure Design) and a design editor at Style At Home Magazine (which has some great cottages featured in the July issue!).
She recently launched her own website which features oodles of beautiful portfolio pictures, as well as a unique design service that she...

Storybook Spotlight ("Goodnight Moon")
I always intend to do more storybook spotlights then I actually do… Sorry it’s been so long!
Our new favourite around here is “Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Wise Brown. I’ll admit, this is one of those books that I never really understood why it was so famous. The colours seemed garish and the text a little weird. Yet I bought it for Little M anyway… it...

Summer Style Series: Concert at Sunset
There’s something so exquisite about summer nights. And this evening you’re headed to the park with some friends for an outdoor concert. I guess how you dress kinda’ depends on your style of music… but this is for something jazzy, or indie-acoustic-guitar-ish, or maybe even something classical.
Even though I’d bring a blanket for the grass, I’d still want...
