One More Thing...
While crossing some of the e-mailing and stuff off my list I was also looking at pretty pictures, and thought I’d leave you with a few. Check out this Modern Country slideshow from Canadian House & Home for more…
OK, seriously now. I’m gone.

blogbattical
…sabblogical… sabbatablog… Um… trying to find a way to make a hybrid word out of “Blog” and “Sabbatical”. Not working. The point is, I’m taking a break for a while. You see, we’ve had nothing but rain these days, which means my husband, whom I adore, has been home a lot. And somehow that results in me geting nothing done around the...

ABC Quilt
I managed to squeeze in a little time with my new sewing machine last week and finally finish the binding on my abc quilt. This whole quilt has been done in parts over two years as I experimented with different things (like basic patchwork, applique, making my own binding…). There are a few things I would change if I made it again today, but overall I’m pretty happy with it.
I...

thirty before thirty
I like lists. I like setting goals. So I was inspired by this list via Making it Lovely. Of course, the nature of this list totally depends on your proximity to 30. I have 4 years to go (I’m counting up until the day I turn 31 for this list) so, Lord willing, there are a few things I’d like to do!
Here is my list of 30 things I’d like to do before I’m 30 years old:

More art that makes me happy
I have adored the calendar prints from Sarah Jane Studios for years now. I have the set in card form, and I love them! They seem like snapshots from a story book. And I love the change of seasons, so these are perfect!

Quilts
With my new sewing machine here I am bubbling over with ideas for various sewing projects! Wahoo! One big one is a quilt I want to make for a girl who is graduating high school. She’s an awesome young lady who I’ve had the joy of mentoring for the last 4 years, and I want to give her something special to take with her to Bible College. Here are some of the fabrics I’ll be...

Floor plans, Schmoor plans.
I LOVE looking at floor plans. I LOVE altering floor plans. Ya’ see I want that job where I get to sit at a desk and design house floor plans all day long. SAH-weet. It drives Sean a little crazy though, because he’ll show me one for my consideration and the conversation will go as follows:
“What do you think of this one?”
“Ooh! I like it! Except it has a...

HEY MUD PUDDLE!!!
(10 points for all of those who caught the Robert Munsch reference)
Pssst. Hey. Don’t tell my husband, but I love a rainy day.
You see, now that I’m a farmer’s wife I’m not allowed to like rainy days. Well, I am, but only after seeding and before harvest. And right now seeding has not yet begun because of so much rain (and snow. ugh.) So right now, I’m not...

A Very Happy Mother's Day
So I know that mothering is one of the most thankless jobs out there. You change a zillion stinky diapers, and don’t get paid a cent. You make a million meals, and only get gratitude for a handful. Nobody really understands what it takes to be a mom until they are one.
But this Mother’s Day, my first, I felt pretty darn “thanked”.
I woke up to greet this beautiful...

Claim to Fame: Candice is best known for her television show “Divine Design” she was also featured as a judge on a recent season of American HGTV’s Design Star, and has her own line of all things home decor.
